PRIVATE VICES was Bruno Blum's first rock group. It was founded in London in the fall of 1977 by Christophe Rühn (aka Christov Brilliant, guitar, vocals) and Bruno Blum on bass. They were joined by Antoine Heidler (drums) and Christopher McCullough (aka Noggin) on guitar and vocals.
PRIVATE VICES toured England with beginner road manager Dave Davis, who remained a professional tour manager after this. Rühn, Noggin and Blum remained active as musicians ever since. Artwork for the group posters was done by Bruno Blum and his friend Klaus, who was also part of their road crew. Private Vices was managed by Malcolm Fisher for a while, and supported by Martin Docherty (who was London Lyceum's stage manager at the time and arranged some gigs for them). Vices played many shows in London, toured Great Britain and split up in Paris, December 1979 after a series of gigs at the Gibus Club.
Two fine tracks were recorded at London's Rockstar Studios, "Paris 84" and "Total Control." They were supposed to be released on the Cherry Red label in London, but it never happened.
